so I just never turned off my mac until I was done with the game (kept it on sleep). Really amazing game, lots of fun. i even altered settings on adobe flash and still didnt save. Their other game, Bontanicula, does save and doesnt have issues (that is also a very good game).

Was a really fun and immersive game with a lot of style. Loved it until they make you play "5 in a row" with an AI. Not fun! UNBEATABLE! You have better odds playing chess with a super computer!

Good game over all. Puzzles are a fun challenge and graphics are fun as well. Read many complaints about not being able to save games. Seems that internet browsers clean up save game files. I just created a user account on my computer just for Machinarium, I dont open any browsers on the account, and I have not lost a game since. Machinarium has taken me much longer than the 5 or 6 hours to complete that many people have claimed, so I feel as though I have gotten alot of bang for my buck. Four and a half stars is a proper rating for ten dollars.

My son (5yo) play this together and have tons of fun with the storyline, the puzzles, and the artwork. That little robot is the most endearing game character Ive seen yet! Weve played it through together several times now and it just doesnt get old. Kinda like that classic movie or book you keep coming back to. To be a bit boring and parental, I feel that the kind of associative/creative thinking the quests require is educational without being obviously so. Great job Amanita! I generally hate sequels but I sure wish you would do one for Machinarium...

I rarely ever play computer games, but there was something about this puzzler that made me want to start. Addicting with amazingly simple, yet elegant graphics and an interesting sound board. However this only gets 4 stars from me because the game play was so short. Dont get me wrong, its well worth the 10 bucks, but dont assume that youll be amused with this game for more than 2 days, and thats playing sporadically and intermittently throughout those 2 days. Loved this game though! I want more!

This game is Superb! Excellent artwork and soundtrack, challenging puzzles, interesting story. But, the only reason I can’t give it a 5 Star rating is because it’s honestly WAY too short. I completed this game in about 4 days of casual playing. After paying $10 for an app, I really expect to be able to use it for more than 4 days. I’m mostly disappointed because I enjoyed playing the game so much that I just wish there were more to play.

Fantastic!!

Love this game…PLEASE make a sequel…this is far too short. MAKE MACHINARIUM 2, please. Thank you!

It was very fun and interesting, the graphics and pictures were also very good. I would have given it 5 stars exept that some of the puzzles are way too hard. They provide a lot of hints, but it is more fun to do it without the hints.

I have this game on iPad, and I’m part way through. I wanted to play it on my iMac full-screen, because sometimes it’s hard to see all the little things on a small screen. But the Mac version is NOT full-screen. In fact, it’s only slightly larger than on a regular iPad. Kinda hoping I can get my money back. Buyer beware.

Great music, awesome design and visuals, thoughtful puzzles, zero fustration with the clever hints book. Why can’t more games be like this? Well done Amanita.

It was a nice beautiful short game, graphics ,characters, storyline and music were excellent! Some of the puzzle were very challenging and the mini games added more fun to it. If you planning to buy it do not hesitate , you wont be disappointed .

This was a fun and beautiful game. Story and music were so cute! Loved the robot especially when he danced to the jazz music. This game made me smile a lot and had some challenging puzzles for sure!

If you stop a game in the middle of the scene and want to resume the next day, the little figure won’t let you do it over, no hard you try. There needs to be some kind of a rest so you don’t have to start a new game everytime. I put it on my iMac, iPad and my iPhone and it plays almost the same on all of them but I still have had to restert the game 10 times in one day, very frustrating.

Overall this is a great game to play. It reminds me of games like Hugo that came out in the 90’s. But the bug issue is that my save slots get wiped out every time i close the game, making it impossible for me to pick up where i left off. If anyone could help me out with this issue, please let me know

This game came across as being rated very high. I wish I could get my money back!! There is no possibility to skip the extremely difficult puzzles and you must have a copy of the walk through to just maneuver through the scenes. However, the walk through did not give you any help with the puzzles!! Do not waste your time and money purchasing this game!!

I have really enjoyed the graphics of the game and the way it makes you think to solve interesting and sometimes funny puzzles. But although I have saved the game several times it has a serious issue that doesn’t let me load the game from the part I have saved last time. My macbook is a good and updated system: Retina, 2.6 Hz, OS X 10.10.3, so I don’t think the issue is about my computer. In any case after starting from the beginning each time I wanted to play the rest of the game, I gave up on playing it, since I have to do all the previous parts before being able to play the new part. As another reviewer has mentioned playing previous parts again can be of course faster than the first time you try to solve those puzzles, but it is a serious bug and takes its own time, and I think that can stop you from playing the whole game from the beginning each time.

Great Game!

This game was excellent! Puzzles within puzzles in a visually stimulating world. Excellent artistry.

Game is cute, fun, and beautiful to look at. Great sound effectis and music too. BUT, one big problem that must be fixed: CANNOT SAVE GAME PROGRESS. This MUST be fixed. Not “should” be fixed… it MUST be fixed. What good is a computer game that cannot save your progress?

I found this game looking for a break from some heavy deadlines. I am a producer and sound designer, and first. WOW The soundtrack by Tomas Dvorak is just a slice of heaven. It’s glitchy, ambient, and little gritty with beautiful synth sounds and flow. And, I mention it, because when the music is THIS good, you don’t mind just exploring, trying options, and clicking around until you figure out the right combination of things. And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the beautiful hand drawn landscapes! How perfectly they match the music. You can really just listen and watch and admire this beautiful creation while the game is happening. The puzzles are challenging enough where you need to be patient, which again, I didn’t mind since I loved the music and the drawings. And the game’s conflicts are focused on core emotions which makes it accesible. The fact that creatures only communicate in expression and thougth bubbles is one thing that makes it so delightful. Honestly excited to follow Animata Design and keep trying thier other games. Botanicula was a psychedlic creative feast, but Machinarium to me has the best music! MD

Its beautiful, the sountrack is wonderful, and I loved the gameplay!! Sadly, I beat this game in just a few hours. The graphics are beautiful and the puzzles are fun, but I only felt challenged once. If it were more complex, or if it had a longer storyline, I would be more inclined to reccomend this game to others (for the price I paid).
