Will not Save game on macbook pro

I have re-started this game 3 times due to loss of saved game play.
Each time I have saved in slot 1, close the game, re-open, nothing there. New game is the only option.
Too bad it cost so much for a flawed game.
The developers should do something to fix this and if not, then guess they only want the money and really do not worry about the problems that they have caused for us.
